I’m intending to do a series of still life paintings which are in some way self biographical. This set-up was collected with the idea of mixing some objects my children loved and an old jug, which reminds me of my Grandmother, their Great Grandmother. The wattle places me in Australia, in Spring, and the background is an old scarf that I picked up in Sydney visiting my children’s paternal grandmother. Children are the fruit of us all as with the bright tangerine. They are also, the new life, promised in the egg. The painting represents generations of memories.
