Oil Paint

Oil on canvas, stretched and ready to hang. Signed on the front.

I can’t call myself religious, and it’s a fact that I pray and meditate and I do yoga as often as possible. When I was a child, I would sit in wonder during church, spell-bound at the drama enfolding, later, exploring Buddhism, I realised that at the heart of both faiths is compassion. The little Buddha is about that, compassion and reverence. That great wonder, which is, to me, quite beyond comprehension, I created the still life to paint. In the meditation I easily do whilst painting, I contemplated compassion for all of us during these difficult times of the pandemic.

THE LITTLE BUDDHA.
